Air Samarkand to replace Wizz on Tashkent–Abu Dhabi route
Uzbeki airline to launch seasonal regular charter to UAE capital
Uzbekistan-based privately-owned carrier Air Samarkand has announced the launch of a seasonal flight service between Tashkent and Abu Dhabi (UAE).
The regular charters will operate from December 26, 2025, to February 20, 2026, once per week, using an Airbus A321 narrow-body.
The route was previously served until autumn by the now-defunct Abu Dhabi subsidiary of low-cost airline Wizz Air.
Starting with the summer flight schedule, Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national carrier, will take over the route on a regular basis, along with other key destinations in Central Asia and the Caspian region.
Meanwhile, Air Samarkand is undergoing a restructuring process. The airline currently operates one A321ceo listed on its air operator certificate (registration UK-32120), as well as two wet-leased aircraft: a Boeing 767-200 (registration JY-JAL, leased from ACMI provider Jordan Aviation) and an A321ceo (registration YR-FIB, wet leased from FlyOne).
The latter joined the fleet this week and will be deployed on flights to Abu Dhabi and Jeddah.
