Security screening at Baku Airport becomes faster and more efficient with new technology
State-of-the-art security scanners installed at Azerbaijan’s major hub
Efficiency and compliance with international security check standards at Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD) have significantly improved, thanks to the installation of Rohde & Schwarz QPS201 security scanners.
The pre-flight screening checkpoints for outbound passengers at Azerbaijan’s main airport are now equipped with the state-of-the-art scanners, which employ innovative millimeter-wave technology and AI-based algorithms to meet all regulatory requirements for detecting prohibited items while minimizing false alarm rates.
These systems enable faster and more accurate screenings, while their high throughput capacity speeds up security processes and improves passenger flow.
The scanners are also suitable for passengers with reduced mobility, ensuring unimpeded passage.
The QPS201s are approved by the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and many other national agencies, and are deployed at major airports worldwide, including Frankfurt, London, Osaka, and Denver.
