Flight frequencies between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan to reach 40 weekly
Azerbaijani flag carrier AZAL expands network with new routes
In a move to further drive commercial, business, and tourism cooperation across the Central Asian and Caspian regions, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) is significantly expanding its footprint in Kazakhstan.
Following the launch of a three-weekly non-stop service between Baku and Shymkent in mid-June, the Azerbaijani flag carrier has announced launch dates for new regular flights connecting Baku with key economic hubs in Western Kazakhstan. Operations to Atyrau are scheduled to begin on August 16 (four weekly flights), followed by Aktobe on September 16 (three weekly flights).
According to the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, these new routes will boost the total number of weekly flights between the two nations to 40.
Atyrau serves as a major hub for Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry and is a key economic driver in the Caspian region. Meanwhile, Aktobe stands out as a crucial regional center with highly developed industrial, logistical, and commercial infrastructure.
