Kazakhstan-based privately-held SCAT Airlines plans to open a route between Prague (PRG), Czech Republic and Sanya (SYX), China.
A scheduled seasonal flight from the Czech capital to Hainan Island will operate once a week starting December 21st, with a technical stop in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The route will be served with a 213-seat all-economy Boeing 737MAX-9 narrowbody.
The carrier has some experience serving international resorts from other countries. For example, SCAT carried Russian tourists to Hainan and Vietnam via Almaty and Astana.
It also did charters from Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk (also in Russia) to Cambodia (with a technical stop in Taraz, Kazakhstan).
