Kazakh private carrier SCAT Airlines signed an agreement with US-based AIP Capital at the Farnborough Airshow in July for the lease of two new Boeing 737MAX-8 narrowbody passenger aircraft. According to the airline’s Technical Director Dmitry Denisov, these jets will be delivered in November 2027.

SCAT had previously announced plans to receive two Boeing 737MAX-8s and two higher-capacity MAX-9 aircraft in 2027. However, the agreement with AIP Capital represents an additional order for aircraft of this type, the airline’s press service told CentralAsia+Aero.

Currently, the airline already operates nine 737MAX-8s and five -9s, alongside more than dozen of previous-generation Boeing 737s. It also plans to take delivery of five more Boeing 737MAX-9s in 2028 and recently placed a firm order for an additional five aircraft of the same variant.

SCAT develops its route network across Kazakhstan, as well as to destinations in Europe and Asia, operating out of its home base at Shymkent Airport and the country’s two other major airports, Almaty and Astana.
