FlyArystan, the budget subsidiary of the Air Astana Group, has expanded its route network from Aktau (SCO) with its fourth international destination.

The airline launched direct flights to Dubai (DXB), United Arab Emirates, today, November 29.

The low-cost carrier also operates international services from Aktau, Kazakhstan’s only Caspian Sea port city, to Kutaisi, Georgia; Baku, Azerbaijan; and Istanbul, Turkey.

Initially, the 3.5-hour flight from Aktau to Dubai will operate weekly, with an additional frequency to be added during the peak winter and spring holiday periods.

“The level of interest from airlines confirms the growing importance of this region in international route development and strengthens Aktau Airport’s role as a key transport hub in Western Kazakhstan,” said Meruert Zholdybayeva, CEO of Aktau Airport.

Richard Ledger, President of FlyArystan, added: “Aktau is a strategically important city for FlyArystan… We observe consistently high demand for travel both from the Mangystau region and into the region for tourism and business purposes.”

In addition to its international offerings, FlyArystan also connects Aktau with six domestic destinations within Kazakhstan.
