FlyArystan is the low-cost subsidiary of Air Astana Group. It became a separate legal entity in late 2023, received its own Air Operator Certificate in April 2024 and has operated under its own code since 1 January 2025. In September 2026 it completed its initial IATA safety audit and was added to the IOSA registry. As of September 2026, it operated 28 Airbus A320 family aircraft. Problems with Pratt & Whitney PW1100G engines grounded several of them and contributed to a 10.6% fall in passenger traffic in the first half of 2026.
Johan Eidhagen, a Wizz Air veteran, was appointed president effective 1 March 2026. In the first half of 2026 the airline entered the Aktau–Urumqi, Almaty–Xi’an and Almaty–Chongqing markets. On 16 December it is set to resume Aktau–Yerevan flights.
