Jay L. Lingeswara, Vice President of the parent company Vietjet Air, has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer of VietJet Qazaqstan. He will concurrently maintain his current seat at Vietjet Air, Lingeswara said in his social media account. In both roles, his mission is to lead commercial strategy across the organizations and contribute to growth and innovation within the aviation industry.

His arrival at VietJet Qazaqstan coincides with a fundamental transformation of the carrier’s business model. Formerly known as Qazaq Air, the airline became part of the Vietjet Air group after its controlling stake was acquired by the Vietnamese conglomerate Sovico Group in May 2025.

Following the acquisition, the airline announced a strategic pivot from regional operations to international low-cost carrier (LCC) services. To support this transition, VietJet Qazaqstan will begin expanding its capacity this year with the delivery of its first two Boeing 737 MAX 8 mid-range airliners. These units are part of a larger 20-aircraft commitment drawn from the parent company’s total order of 200 Boeing 737 MAX jets.
