Uzbekistan Airways selects digital solution for crew planning
The national flag carrier signed an agreement with the Russian vendor
Uzbekistan Airways, the national flag carrier, signed an agreement with the Russian company Integro Technologies to implement the PANORAMA COS digital tool to optimize long-term crew planning. The platform utilizes prescriptive Artificial Intelligence (AI) to calculate optimal crew assignment plans while accounting for hundreds of simultaneous constraints and variables.
The first phase of implementation will focus on optimizing the pairing process—calculating flight duty sequences for crews with integrated cost-management functions and the ability to plan crew positioning, including various types of deadhead travel.
The second phase will cover rostering optimization, incorporating temporary and permanent personnel data, historical records, personal preferences, and numerous other parameters into the crew schedules.
Uzbekistan Airways attributed the need for a digital crew management system to the rapid expansion of its fleet, route network, and overall flight frequency.
“Uzbekistan Airways is in a period of large-scale transformation: we are actively expanding our fleet, launching new routes, and training personnel at our own aviation school. The implementation of PANORAMA COS is a strategic decision that will enable us to build efficient and transparent planning for both flight and cabin crews, ensure fair workload distribution, and respond swiftly to schedule changes,” said Shakhzod Ikramov, Deputy Chairman of the Board for Flight Operations at Uzbekistan Airways.
In comparison, the largest carrier in neighboring Kazakhstan, Air Astana, selected the US provider Jeppesen in 2025 for its IT solution for crew optimization. According to Air Astana’s reports, the use of that digital tool ultimately allowed the airline to offer an additional 17% of seat capacity for commercial sale.
CentralAsia+ Aero earlier reported: Uzbekistan Airways relies on Chinese leasing companies for supply of six new A321neos.
