Uzbekistan Airports, the state-owned operator managing 18 airports across the nation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JPMorgan Chase to collaborate on capital market activities, including the potential issuance of Eurobonds and other financial instruments.

The document was signed this week during the Uzbekistan Investor Day event held in Boston and New York. Throughout the event, Uzbekistan Airports representatives also held high-level meetings with prominent financial institutions—including Citigroup, Artisan Partners, Xtellus Capital Partners, and Nomura Capital Partners—to explore priority areas for collaboration and future investment frameworks.

STRATEGIC INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT

This partnership is part of a broader effort by Uzbekistan Airports to strengthen its presence in international financial markets and broaden access to capital for infrastructure development. The company is currently executing large-scale initiatives to modernize facilities nationwide through both direct investment and increasingly popular public-private partnership (PPP) arrangements.

KEY INFRASTRUCTURE INITIATIVES

The operator’s development roadmap includes several high-priority projects:

  • Tashkent International Airport: Expansion of current passenger and cargo terminals.
  • New Capital Airport: Construction of a completely new airport facility to serve the Tashkent region.
  • Bukhara: Development of a new greenfield airport.
  • Fergana: Planned launch of a new terminal project.
  • Regional Upgrades: Continued infrastructure development in Urgench and Navoi.
