Termez becomes sixth Uzbek gateway to Istanbul

Uzbekistan-based privately-held carrier Fly Khiva prepares to launch direct scheduled services between Termez (TMJ) and Istanbul (IST). Starting 30 May, the carrier will bridge the two cities with a twice-weekly frequency utilizing its 225-seat Boeing 757-300 aircraft.

According to data from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport, a total of 87 scheduled weekly flights are currently operated by a mix of flag carriers and private entrants: Uzbekistan Airways, Qanot Sharq (Uzbekistan), Centrum Air (Uzbekistan) and Turkish Airlines.

Established in 2021 in the historic city of Khiva, the carrier took to the skies in 2024. While initially entered the market as a cargo operator—deploying a Boeing 767-300F widebody—it has since pivoted toward the passenger segment. The airline’s current fleet also includes two narrowbody Boeing 757-300s.
