Uzbekistan Airways signs codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways
The partnership will allow the Uzbek airline to sell tickets under its own code on Etihad Airways' flights between Tashkent and Abu Dhabi
Uzbekistan’s flag carrier, Uzbekistan Airways, announced on May 15 the signing of a strategic codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways. The partnership will allow the Uzbek airline to sell tickets under its own code on Etihad Airways’ flights between Tashkent and Abu Dhabi.
Joint operations are scheduled to launch on August 9, 2026. Etihad Airways had previously planned to begin its six-weekly flights to Tashkent starting August 17, stepping in to replace the low-cost carrier Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, which ceased operations in 2025.
“The launch of flights to Abu Dhabi will serve as a vital addition to Uzbekistan Airways’ existing daily flights to Dubai, offering passengers even more flexibility and comfort when planning trips to the UAE,” Uzbekistan Airways said in a statement.
In turn, the UAE carrier will be able to place its code and sell tickets on eight of Uzbekistan Airways’ 11 domestic destinations out of Tashkent, specifically to Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench, Nukus, Termez, Fergana, Namangan, and Andijan.
Furthermore, the agreement includes the integration of the airlines’ frequent flyer programs, UzAirPlus and Etihad Guest, enabling passengers to expand their options for earning and redeeming miles across both networks.
