Armenia leads capacity growth on European routes

Armenia has emerged as the leader among Central Asian and South Caucasus in terms of seat capacity growth to Europe. According to Air Service One, the country’s one-way capacity will reach 520,000 seats in the third quarter of this year, marking a 33% increase compared to last year’s figures. Compared to 2019, this represents a staggering 568% growth.

Neighboring Azerbaijan will offer an identical volume of seats on its European routes. However, this volume reflects a 2% decline compared to the previous year.

Kazakhstan is also set to reduce its seat capacity on flights to Europe by 5%, dropping to 477,000 seats.

Meanwhile, Georgia will be the absolute leader in Central Asia and the region by total seat capacity to Europe in Q3, offering 713,000 seats (+2%).

As for Uzbekistan, 421,000 seats will be available on flights to European destinations (+17%).

For this analysis, Air Service One utilized scheduled flight data from the Cirium database, excluding routes to Russia.
