Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) entered into a new codeshare partnership with India’s flag carrier – Air India. This effort builds on an existing interline agreement between the two carriers which allows customers of both airlines to travel seamlessly on a single itinerary.

The new deal enables Air India to apply its code to daily flights between Delhi and Baku, and between Mumbai and Baku which are operated by Azerbaijan Airlines. The latter is a sole carrier serving these routes at the moment.

Customers from Delhi, Mumbai, and beyond can now travel conveniently to Baku with an Air India ticket, the Indian carrier said.

“Our partnership with Air India is an important step in expanding Azerbaijan Airlines’ international connectivity through strategic partnerships”, said its Chief Commercial Officer Jamil Manizade. In mid-June, AZAL signed a codeshare agreement with Uzbekistan Airways which covers flights between Baku and Tashkent as well as Baku and Samarkand. In its turn, Air India signed similar codeshare agreement with Air Astana in 2025 placing its code on the flight operated by Kazakhstan’s largest carrier to Delhi and Mumbai from Almaty.
