From September 30 to October 1, 2026, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, will host the 3rd Central Asia Air Cargo Summit. The event will gather over 300 senior decision-makers—including leaders from airlines, airports, freight forwarders, cargo terminals, GSSAs, logistics providers, e-commerce giants, regulatory bodies, and technology partners—to address the rapidly evolving air freight landscape across Central Asia.

Why Central Asia is on the Global Cargo Map

Air cargo has emerged as one of the standout growth stories in Central Asian aviation. According to IATA data, Uzbekistan recorded the fastest air cargo growth in the region between 2019 and 2024, boasting an impressive 182% increase.

That momentum has accelerated into 2026. In the first half of the year alone, Uzbekistan’s airports handled 51,500+ tons of cargo and mail—a 33% year-on-year surge. Across the region, combined cargo volumes have more than doubled since 2019, with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan establishing themselves as primary regional hubs.

Much of this rapid expansion is powered by Uzbekistan’s growing fleet of dedicated freighter operators, five of which now deploy a fleet of Boeing 757 and 767 freighters.

Key Highlights of the Summit

The two-day conference program will open with an exploration of regional market growth and global connectivity strategies, followed by deep dives into capacity expansion, infrastructure financing, digitalization, and supply chain sustainability.

Program Highlights:

  • IATA Air Cargo Round Table: Hosted at the Summit for the first time.
  • Industry Resolution: Conference organizers will submit a formal resolution to Central Asian civil aviation authorities targeting key priorities, such as harmonizing customs processes with international best practices.
