On August 5, Kyrgyz privately-held carrier SkyFru launched regular flights between the country’s capital, Bishkek, and Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport. The route was previously operated by TezJet, which lost its air operator certificate in July following a serious aviation incident at the Bishkek airport.

SkyFru will operate flights to Domodedovo three times a week using Boeing 737-300 narrowbody aircraft, Russian aviation authorities reported. According to the Kyrgyzstan aircraft registry, the airline operates two such jets manufactured in 1995 and 1996. One of them is painted in the livery of its parent airline, Avia Traffic Company.

Passenger traffic between Bishkek Domodedovo exceeds 300,000 travelers annually, according to the Moscow capital’s gateway. On this route, daily flights are operated by Avia Traffic itself and Russia’s Ural Airlines.

Additionally, Kyrgyz carrier Aero Nomad operates flights from Bishkek to Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport twice a week. From Moscow’s third hub, Sheremetyevo, Russia’s largest carrier Aeroflot operates several daily flights to the Kyrgyz capital.
