Hancock Aviation opens two line maintenance stations in Kazakhstan
German MRO provider expands Central Asian footprint with new facilities at Shymkent and Turkistan, serving transit cargo carriers
German MRO provider Hancock Aviation has opened aircraft line maintenance stations at two airports in southern Kazakhstan – Shymkent (CIT) and Turkistan (HSA). The new facilities will service foreign airlines making transit stops at these airports.
Thanks to its geographic location, Kazakhstan serves as a key stopover point for many cargo carriers transporting goods between China and Europe.
The new line stations will be operated by the company’s local subsidiary, Hancock Aviation Kazakhstan LLP, which already runs a main maintenance base at the country’s largest airport, Almaty (ALA).
By the end of this year, the company also plans to reopen line maintenance stations at Astana (NQZ) and Karaganda (KGF) airports, Hancock Aviation’s Managing Director Michael Hancock confirmed to CentralAsia+Aero.
The German provider is certified to work with Boeing 747-400, 747-8, 777-200/300, 767, and Airbus A330 aircraft.
