Turkish Airlines has filed service changes for the Summer 2026 season, suspending operations to 18 international destinations effective May 2026.

The affected routes include: Aqaba, Billund, Bissau, Fergana, Freetown, Havana, Hurghada, Juba, Kinshasa, Kirkuk, Leipzig/Halle, Libreville, Luanda, Lusaka, Monrovia, Najaf, Pointe-Noire, and Turkistan.

Turkish flag carrier will cease service on the Istanbul–Fergana (FEG) route in Uzbekistan at the end of May 2026, with no plans to resume until the start of the next summer season in March 2027.

Similarly, the Istanbul–Turkistan (HSA) route in Kazakhstan will be suspended for the same period.

In a related development affecting the Central Asian market, Thai AirAsia X — the Thai subsidiary of the Malaysian low-cost carrier — recently announced reduced flight frequencies between Bangkok Don Mueang and Almaty (ALA), Kazakhstan.

The moves are attributed to rising fuel costs and geopolitical instability in the Middle East, which continue to pressure aviation fuel prices and availability across the industry.
