Cargolux Airlines to return to Astana
Initially, its Boeing 747F freighters will make technical stops in Kazakhstan’s capital
Cargolux, one of the world’s largest cargo airlines based in Luxembourg, is set to resume flights through Astana, reported the airport of Kazakhstan’s capital.
As part of a long-term cooperation program, the airline plans to operate up to two flights per day through the airport. Initially, its Boeing 747F freighters will make technical stops for refueling and maintenance.
According to the airport, this move will expand the logistics capabilities of Astana, boost cargo turnover, and create additional opportunities for the development of transport and logistics infrastructure. In 2025, Astana Airport handled 4,300 tons of cargo, with plans to increase the volume of transit cargo to 5,000 tons per year by 2029.
According to flight tracking services, Cargolux currently operates flights from Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taipei to Luxembourg with a stopover at Baku Airport in Azerbaijan.
