Aeroflot carries over 210,000 passengers between Kazakhstan and Russia in four months
Russia's flag carrier grew cross-border traffic by 6% in 2025
In January–April 2026, Aeroflot Group — including Rossiya Airlines, which operates under its commercial management — carried 211,000 passengers (round trip) on services between Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. The most sought-after routes were:
🔹 Moscow – Almaty: 83,700 passengers
🔹 Moscow – Astana: 70,600 passengers
The group’s summer schedule includes flights from Moscow to Almaty, Astana, Aktau, Atyrau, Kostanay, Karaganda and Shymkent. In addition, flights to Almaty are operated from Saint Petersburg and Krasnoyarsk.
Kazakhstan remains one of the most popular destinations in the CIS for Aeroflot. For full-year 2025, the group carried 764,000 passengers between the two countries — up 6% year-on-year — while operating nearly 5,500 flights. On the key Moscow–Almaty route, Aeroflot transported over 267,000 passengers, a 7% increase compared with the previous year.
According to Russia’s Ministry of Transport, total passenger air traffic between the two countries surpassed 1 million last year.
