Georgian cargo carrier Geosky has performed an emergency engine replacement on its Boeing 767-300ER aircraft in Tashkent. The freighter, registered as 4L-GEL, made an unscheduled landing in the Uzbek capital on May 10 due to an engine failure while en route from Tbilisi (TBS) to Chongqing (CKG), China.

On May 13, the aircraft was towed to the facility of the local MRO provider, Uzbekistan Airways Technics (UAT). Its specialists removed the faulty engine and installed a replacement. By May 16, 2026, the aircraft had successfully resumed operations, according to UAT.

The Uzbek MRO provider is certified to service Boeing 767-200/300 models powered by PW 4000 and GE CF6 engines. This aircraft type is highly popular among cargo operators across Central Asia and the South Caucasus. Geosky Airlines currently operates four Boeing 767-300Fs, out of a total of 35 such aircraft active in the region.
