Uzbekistan Airways unveils special Boeing 787 livery to support national team at FIFA World Cup 2026
The "Go Uzbekistan" liveried aircraft will serve as a symbol of the national football team's historic debut at the tournament
Uzbekistan’s national flag carrier, Uzbekistan Airways, has unveiled a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner (registration UK78706) sporting an exclusive special livery. The project celebrates a historic milestone: the national football team’s first-ever qualification for the FIFA World Cup finals.
The custom livery is dubbed “Go Uzbekistan”. The corresponding slogan, integrated with football imagery and the carrier’s corporate logo, is displayed in English on the forward fuselage, while its Uzbek counterpart—“Olg’a O’zbekiston”—is featured on the aft section.
A key element of the visual concept is the White Wolf, symbolizing the team’s strength, courage, and unity. The mascot’s emblem is applied to the engine nacelles along with the Uzbek inscription “Oq Bo’rilar” (“White Wolves”).
Shukhrat Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board at Uzbekistan Airways: “Today, this aircraft is more than just an airliner. It is a symbol of faith, support, and national pride.”
The choice of aircraft type for this project is highly strategic. Uzbekistan Airways remains the sole carrier in Central Asia operating regular, non-stop flights to the United States, where the FIFA World Cup matches will take place in the summer of 2026. Consequently, the Dreamliner will serve as a key ambassador for the nation on this high-profile transatlantic route.
The aircraft branding project was executed in-house by the airline’s MRO subsidiary, Uzbekistan Airways Technics (UAT). The company emphasized that the livery application was carried out in strict compliance with international aviation standards. The process required preliminary engineering approvals, updates to the aircraft’s technical documentation, and regulatory clearances from both aviation authorities and the OEM.
