Boeing announces delivery dates for new aircraft for Kazakh airlines
In the second half of the year, Air Astana is slated to receive the 787, while Vietjet Qazaqstan will take delivery of the 737MAX
At last week’s Dubai Airshow 2025, Boeing announced the delivery dates for new aircraft destined for Kazakhstan’s Air Astana and Vietjet Qazaqstan.
According to Boeing’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Paul Righi, quoted by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport, deliveries of three long-haul Boeing 787-9s for Air Astana will begin in July 2026. Another Kazakh carrier, Vietjet Qazaqstan (Qazaq Air), will receive its first medium-haul Boeing 737MAX-8 in September 2026. At present, no deviations from the delivery schedule have been noted, Righi confirmed.
For Air Astana, the long-awaited arrival of the Boeing 787-9 will enable the launch of transatlantic flights to the United States. On the eve of Dubai Airshow, the carrier expanded its order by an additional 15 aircraft of the type, scheduled for delivery between 2032 and 2035.
The arrival of the Boeing 737MAX-8 will also mark a new stage in the development of Vietjet Qazaqstan, which currently operates five regional De Havilland Q400 turboprops. The transition to medium-haul aircraft was announced after the airline was acquired by Vietnam’s Sovico Group. The new investor has pledged to supply 20 Boeing 737MAX-8s over the next five years, enabling Vietjet Qazaqstan to adopt a low-cost carrier model and expand its route network to Southeast Asia and major global aviation hubs.
