Air Serbia announces launch date for direct flights to Azerbaijan
Serbia-based carrier to serve Belgrade–Baku route in May 2026
Serbian flag carrier Air Serbia has announced it will launch direct flights between Belgrade and Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, starting May 3, 2026. The service will operate twice weekly with a flight duration of approximately 3.5 hours. The route will be serviced by Airbus A319 narrowbody aircraft.
Air Serbia will be the first airline to offer direct air connectivity between Serbia and Azerbaijan. The carrier initially signaled its intent to enter the Baku route in mid-2024. This becomes the second Caucasian destination for the Serbian airline, following the successful launch of its Belgrade–Tbilisi route earlier this summer.
Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) expanded its regional reach in 2024 by opening routes to Bulgaria and Romania—countries neighboring Serbia—but the airline is not operating any flights to the Balkans during the current winter season.
