Air Serbia considers increasing flight frequencies to Baku
Additional flights may be added for the Formula One event in Azerbaijan this September
Air Serbia is considering increasing the number of flights from Belgrade to Baku in September. This was reported by EX-YU Aviation, citing a statement from Boško Rupić, the Serbian carrier’s General Manager for Commercial and Strategy.
According to Rupić, the surge in demand for flights on this route in September is driven by the Formula One Azerbaijan Grand Prix taking place in Baku. The two weekly scheduled flights for this period are already completely sold out.
Air Serbia launched scheduled air service between the capitals of Serbia and Azerbaijan in early May. The inaugural flight from Belgrade to Baku was 87% sold out, while the return flight reached 97%, Rupić noted. Under a code-share agreement with Air Serbia, tickets for these flights are also marketed by Azerbaijan Airlines.
