FlyOne Armenia expands fleet with additional Airbus A320

FlyOne Armenia (3F), currently the largest carrier in Armenia, has further expanded its narrowbody capacity with the induction of an Airbus A320ceo.

The 20-year-old aircraft (MSN 2975), powered by CFM56-5B4/P engines, has been added to the Armenian registry as EK-FOG. Previously operated by Latvia’s SmartLynx, the airframe is configured in a 180-seat all-economy layout, designed for the carrier’s low-cost model.

While the Yerevan-based carrier claims its fleet now comprises 10 A320-family aircraft, official records from the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia (as of February 18) show only five aircraft registered under the local Air Operator Certificate (AOC).

The discrepancy is accounted for by the group’s integrated operational model. FlyOne Armenia supplements its core fleet through wet-lease agreements and by leveraging the resources of the wider FlyOne Group, which includes sister carriers in Moldova (5F), Romania (OE), and Uzbekistan (FlyOne Asia, 7Q).

Utilizing aircraft registered outside of Armenia remains a critical strategic necessity for the carrier. Because all Armenian-certified airlines are currently included in the European Union’s Air Safety List (the so-called “black list”), FlyOne Armenia relies on these foreign-registered assets to maintain its scheduled and charter network between Yerevan and various European destinations.

Since launching revenue operations in December 2021, FlyOne Armenia has rapidly scaled its presence, connecting the Armenian capital to key markets across Europe, Russia, and the Middle East.
