Flyone Armenia has taken delivery of an Airbus A321 passenger jet, which has become the 11th owned aurcraft in its fleet, according to Eduard Sukiasyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors at SIL Capital, one of the airline’s founding companies. In total, the Armenian carrier operates 15 A320 family aircraft.

Notably, only six of these aircraft—five A320s and one A321 of the ceo generation—are registered in Armenia. The remaining aircraft are operated under the registrations of other airlines within the Flyone international group, which enables the Armenian carrier to operate flights to Europe.

During the welcome ceremony for the new aircraft at Zvartnots Airport in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, the launch of the SIL Technics line maintenance station was also announced. It was established in partnership with Bird Aviation, a Cypriot aircraft maintenance provider. The latter is based at Larnaca Airport and holds an EASA Part 145 certification for line and base maintenance of the A320 family aircraft.

“By launching SIL TECH, we are bringing European technical standards and advanced engineering capabilities directly to Armenia. This facility will serve not only domestic carriers but also international airlines operating in the region,” Sukiasyan noted.

Other local air carriers—Armenia Airways, Shirak Avia, and NovAir—currently hold only national MRO organization certificates.
