Astana International Airport (NQZ), the capital city hub of Kazakhstan, returned to normal operations on June 1. Time-restricted aircraft handling measures have been lifted, and both arrivals and departures are now being fully processed in accordance with airlines’ standard schedules.

The works were carried out between April 15 and May 31, 2026, as part of a phased modernization program for the airport’s airfield infrastructure. The project involved repairing specific sections of the runway and airfield pavements. During the maintenance period, a daily eight-hour maintenance window (from 10:00 to 18:00) was implemented, requiring flight schedule adjustments and the rescheduling of certain flights to morning and evening hours.

Looking ahead, Astana Airport plans to construct a second runway to support future growth.
