Kyrgyz airlines transport 1.12 million passengers in January–August
Traffic grew by just 1.5% year-on-year
Kyrgyzstan’s airlines transported 1.122 million passengers during the first eight months of this year, according to the National Statistical Committee of the Central Asian republic. This represents a modest 1.5% increase compared to the same period in 2025, when traffic reached 1.106 million passengers.
For the full year 2025, Kyrgyz carriers transported a record 1.76 million passengers, with international flights accounting for 42% and domestic routes making up 58%. Traffic that year grew by 33% compared to 2024.
Kyrgyzstan’s airports handled over 6 million passengers in 2025. The country has 11 airports—six international and five regional—all managed by the state-owned holding company Airports of Kyrgyzstan.
Authorities expect air traffic volumes to expand following Kyrgyzstan’s removal from the EU Air Safety List, which reopened European access for local carriers. To support the expansion of its route network, state carrier Asman Airlines ordered two medium-haul Airbus A321ceo aircraft.
