In a historic milestone, Uzbekistan’s airports served more than 15 million passengers in 2025, surpassing the previous year’s total by 11.1%.

The 15-millionth passenger was processed a week before the year’s end at Karshi International Airport (KSQ), as announced by the state-run operator, Uzbekistan Airports.

“Fifteen million is more than just a number,” said Uktam Kurbanov, Director of Karshi Airport. “It represents growing public trust, sustained investment in our infrastructure, and increased mobility across the country.”

According to UzAirports, this growth is the result of strategic network expansion, comprehensive airport modernization, and enhanced passenger services.

The ongoing geopolitical shifts, particularly prolonged Russia-Ukraine armed conflict, have also presented new market opportunities for Central Asian air transport.

The annual figures highlight a remarkable recovery and expansion: passenger traffic at Uzbekistan’s airports has surged 90% since 2022 and now stands at 2.2 times pre-pandemic 2019 levels.

CentralAsia+ Aero earlier reported: The passenger traffic at Kazakhstan’s airports is double that of Uzbekistan’s, but its growth rate is lower.

CentralAsia+ Aero earlier reported: Kazakh airlines passenger traffic grew 5.8% during eleven months.

CentralAsia+ Aero earlier reported: Uzbekistan Airways sees growth of 22% in passenger numbers.
